New South Wales' biggest COVID-19 cluster has seen a massive surge in cases, with over half of the new infections announced today linked to one venue. Ten of today's 19 cases have been linked to the Thai Rock restaurant in Wetherill Park.

Three more cases have been linked to the funeral services cluster in Sydney's southwest, bringing the total cases in the outbreak to 18.

One case has also been linked to the Crossroads Hotel cluster.

Multiple cases of COVID-19 recorded  in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, including Potts Point and Bondi, with various venues affected, forcing hundreds of Sydneysiders into isolation.

Another 14 cases were diagnosed on Tuesday, including another three linked to the Potts Point area outbreak.

NSW Health said two of the new cases visited The Apollo restaurant on July 22, and the Cruising Yacht Club Australia (CYCA) in Rushcutters Bay on subsequent nights.  The yacht club has closed for deep cleaning.

With the growing number of cases in the area, NSW Health is again asking all people who live in or have visited the Potts Point area in the past two weeks to get tested if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 at all.

More pop-up COVID-19 testing clinics have been set in Sydney’s east as NSW health authorities continue to monitor another potential infection hotspot.
