Victorian border will be closed to NSW and the ACT

New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory will become a red zone from 11:59pm tonight (11)  and  accordingly Victorian border will be closed to NSW and the ACT.

However Victorian residents returning on a red zone permit for 14 days of quarantine.

Only specified workers and cross-border residents will be able to apply for exemptions.

"If you aren’t a Victorian resident, you cannot enter Victoria from a red zone without an exception, exemption or other valid permit,"  a Sunday statement from Victoria Health read.

If any one try to enter by land, they will be turned away and fined. If any one try and enter at an Airport or seaport, they will be fined up to $4,957 and stay in Hotel Quarantine until return flights can be arranged.
