Sunil Ariyaratne and Rohana Weerasinghe resigned from OSCA due to clash with Bathiya&Santhush

Veteran lyricist Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne and veteran musician Rohana Weerasinghe tender resignation from the board of directors of OSCA (Outstanding Song Creator’s Association) an entity dedicated to artistes whose creativity lies with that unique medium of aesthetics –‘Song’. They have recently submitted their resignation letter to the President of the Oscar Organization Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa.

OSCA strives to ensure professional integrity and credibility, and stability of its membership and representing many singers, musicians and songwriters in the field of music in Sri Lanka.

The reason for the resignation was a dispute related to an unauthorised use of a song written by Sunil Ariyaratne, composed by Rohana Weerasinghe by Bathiya & Santush for commercial purposes. Bathiya Jayakody is also a Director of the OSCA Organization.
