Award winning Sri Lankan  journalist Ramesh Uvais, who has played multiple roles in the English Newspaper sphere, launched his comprehensive website www.rashtoday.lk last week, focusing on life and arts. Ramesh is no stranger to the Sri Lankan Entertainment industry , having written thousands of articles related to the industry for newspapers including Daily Mirror.  Ramesh always focuses on creating high quality content that is entertaining for the target audience.

Ramesh who has proven his prowess in a career spanning 25 years in the media, said this website would come as a solace to general readers, fans, arts and life enthusiasts, and especially the youth who deserve wholesome and inspiring media content.

In a career spanning more than two decades, Ramesh has also participated in diverse fields like acting and singing in addition to documentary translations and film sub-titling.

In 2013, he won the SIGNIS/OCIC Cyril B. Perera Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award for film journalism, being the first and only Muslim journalist to clinch this award so far.

Ramesh Uvais was  presented with the Humanitarian Excellence Award 2021 recently in recognition of his media role to build peace and harmony among all communities, through culture and arts. The ‘Kala Keerthi’ award was presented by the Media Unit of the Human Rights Organization of Justices of Peace.
