“Manike Mage Hithe” to become most popular Sri Lankan song on You tube with more than 43 million views todate.

Music crosses borders and the latest Sri Lankan hit “Manike Mage Hithe” proves just that. The upbeat number has gained great popularity around the world and already passed 43 Million You tube views. It is close to twice the total population of Sri Lanka.

"Manike Mage Hithe” is a track sung originally by Sri Lankan artist Satheeshan Rathnayake, rapped and written by one of promising Sri Lankan songwriters Dulan Alwis known as Dulan ARX. Dulan is also the writer of many recent songs that have hit millions of views on YouTube. Singer Yohani de Silva later did a cover to the song.

Now the experienced Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has shared a video of his dance sequence from his cult film “Kaalia” on Instagram and Twitter. However, the original song ‘Jahan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai’ was replaced by ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ in the video. Bachchan said the editing was done by his granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda.

Sharing the folowing video on Twitter, he wrote that the song was “playing in loop whole night” and it was “impossible to stop listening”.

The original cover of the Sinhala song 2020, produced by Chamath Sangeeth, starring Sri Lankan singer-rapper Yohani and singer Satheeshan, has broken records on streaming platforms since it was released about two months ago. After its success in India, Tamil and Malayalam versions of the song were also released.
