Media Minister has removed SLBC Chairman

The Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has removed the chairman of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation Jagath Wickremesinghe with immediate effect according to press report published on “SrilankMirror”
Along with the removal of the Chairman, it is reported that the whole director board is also deemed to have been removed.
Employees of the SLBC say the reason for the removal is the alleged malpractices carried out by the Chairman and a recently appointed director Maj. Gen. (retired) Nipuna.
It is said the duo were behind the contracts over the recent construction work carried out in several SLBC buildings with an archaeological value.
